What is Hydrodipping
Hydrodipping (also known as watertransfer printer and hydrographic printing) is a great technique to bring a sustainable pattern to any 3d object, we like to say " if it isn't porous then it can be dipped". The process involves the hydrographic film to be dissolved on a tank of water.The object to be dipped would of already gone through the surface preparation stage of sanding and priming and having a coloured base coat applied. plastic parts, such as motorcycle fairings and car trim pieces have a plastic adhesion promoter applied prior to priming. An activator is applied to the dissolved film to aid adhesion to the object to be dipped. finally after rinsing the residue off the object it is given 2-3 coats of clear coat.
